DB & Associates, a niche strategy and operations advisory firm operating out of South Africa and Australia, has been steadily growing since its establishment almost half a decade ago. Despite industry and market challenges hampering the growth of many established management consulting firms, DB & Associates has continued to grow to a team of over 40 industry advisors and consultants working across mining, manufacturing and financial services.
David Kitchen has joined the senior management team as partner and will head up the consultancy’s resources and heavy industry sector team. David has over 30 years of operational experience in large scale infrastructure, capital projects and process automation applications in Africa and Europe.
He was previously CEO of Honeywell’s Africa operations and has worked on numerous operational turnaround, mine restructuring, and optimisation projects in platinum, gold, mineral sands and aluminium. “The use of the Dynamic Constraints Model to assist in mine bottleneck optimisation and scenario planning, for example, is a pragmatic tool for mine activity decision-making,” says David, referring to some of the bespoke solutions DB & Associates designs to support its clients.
